A Message from the President Minimize

Dobson344rt.jpgWelcome to the Professional Women’s Alliance, a member network of the National Association for  Female Executives; the largest women's business organization in the nation. PWA is recognized in the community as an organization which positively impacts the metropolitan area. We stand for women supporting women in being the VOICES of women in business and the community - Vibrant, Outstanding, Influential, Confident, Effective, and Strong.

PWA is having an exciting 2010. Our new monthly meeting location at the Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis, is proving to be an ideal venue and has enabled more members and guests to attend as attendance at our monthly meetings has doubled. The PWA also added 29 new memberships this year, including 5 new corporate memberships. Some phenomenal speakers we have had this year include Deanna Daughetee, Sherry Hausmann, Kathleen Osborn, Patricia Smith-Thurman, and Nancy Lieberman.

I firmly believe in the mission of our charity of choice, Lydia’s House, which provides transitional housing for abused women and children. Through PWA's Dutch Auction at the 2010 Cinco de Mayo event we raised $6,600 which was donated directly to Lydia’s House, as well as an additional $2,200 from a PWA donor. In addition, we had a profit of $16,291 for the evening, and another donation will be made to Lydia’s House later this year.

We greatly appreciate our continued relationship with the Women’s Journal, and our new relationship with the St. Louis Business Journal. Our mission would not be possible without the continued support of the membership, guests, speakers, The Business Journal, and the Women’s Journal.

The PWA looks forward to helping you grow in your business career and life path. Please stay tuned to updates on our website in regard to our upcoming events.

Wishing you all the best!

Stephanie Dobson
