Mentoring Committee

There are several opportunities to join the Mentoring Committee. We can use your talents in any of the following positions:

As a Committee member, you will assist in the training and monitoring of the mentoring program matches. The time commitment is minimal – a brief training session and monthly or bi-monthly contact with the program participants.

Be on the “staff of mentors” – complete a PWA Mentoring Application. The Committee will review it, keep it on file and when a protégé is looking for a mentor with your traits, the Committee will match you and then supervise the match.

The professionally designed PWA Mentoring Program manuals provide an excellent tool for future leaders of the program. With a little training you’ll have all the tools you need to keep the PWA Mentoring Program an invaluable PWA member benefit.

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee a fairly new committee that was created in 2006 as the need grew to position the PWA in the community, while assisting our Membership Committee with its goals.

The Marketing Committee exists as a resource for other PWA committees, by helping the organization and its membership to define PWA and to promote the organization and its activities to members, prospective members, guests and the community at large. The Marketing Committee manages communications on behalf of the PWA and is responsible for assisting to increase the number of PWA members and to increase the involvement of current members.

Specific activities for 2010 include:

Implementing marketing strategies that have an eye towards increased membership while increasing awareness of the PWA and its affiliates

Preparing a succinct statement (i.e., elevator speech) that defines PWA

Finding ways to utilize the NAFE affiliation to promote PWA

HELP WANTED!

This committee relies on the diverse and creative opinions of the women in the PWA. If you want to sink your teeth into a committee with diverse opinions and you like brainstorming, we hope you will consider lending your talents to our committee. Many opportunities exist to be creative and influential in projects like correspondence, media kits, marketing material, advertising copy and planning for the success and longevity of the PWA. We are defining the future direction of this organization! Even if you are not in the marketing field, there are ways for you to be involved and share your talents.  Meetings are monthly.

Auction Committee

The Auction committee is active from February until the Auction event in May.  It’s one of the most exciting committees to become involved raising money for Lydia’s House, our featured charity.  As a member of the Auction Committee, you will be involved in prospecting and gathering live and silent auction items for the event.  You can also help with the mailing of letters and donation forms to members, past donors, and future participants to request their support for a successful 2010 auction.  As the event draws near, we can use your talents and skills to help design the layout of the auction, prepare bid sheets, and event preparation.

As a member of this committee, you become involved in the community and help raise funds for an amazing organization that has supported both women and children in the St. Louis area for many years!  Contact Rhonda at 314-307-5472 to participate on the committee.
