Annie and Susan hope to let the attendees know that St. Louis is fast becoming a global city. The new soccer team, companies, universities, and many other organizations are bringing the best and the brightest from around the world to the St. Louis region. Annie and Susan help companies to succeed in keeping their new employees in the region. It is their intention to help those families connect to their new community by showing them all that St. Louis has to offer by connecting them to the local community, placing them on boards, creating networking opportunities and letting them know that St. Louis is a welcoming and vibrant, diverse, inclusive community and there is a place for them here.

More about Annie Schlafly –
Annie Schlafly is a native St. Louisan who is committed to making St. Louis an even greater place to live, work and visit. Prior to co-founding The International Mentoring Program in 2017
with Susan Gobbo, among other activities, Annie founded the Friends of the St. Louis Public Library and helped raise funds for the restoration of Central Library in 2012. She also founded
the Friends of St. Luke’s Hospital ultimately serving as Chairman of the Board of St. Luke’s Hospital for three years. Annie lives in the Central West End with her husband and tries to keep up with her four children and nine grandchildren.
More about Susan Gobbo –
Susan is Brazilian with a mix of Portuguese and Italian Heritages. Susan Gobbo is the co-founder and coordinator of the International Spouses Meetup Group which started in February 2016, which she has been leading this group since that time. Susan is part of the St. Louis Mosaic Project which represents a larger effort by the region to attract and retain immigrants to our region. In 2017 Susan received the “St Louis Mosaic Ambassador Award” for her outstanding dedication in growing the St Louis region. In August 2018, Susan started working as an International Spouses Program Consultant for St. Louis Mosaic Project / St. Louis Economic Development Partnership. In this role, she connects with companies and organizations, finding ways and exploring new opportunities to support the international spouses in their adaption and integration process in our region. Susan is also an active member of some key organizations in our Latino community and she is involved in many other activities which help make our community more international and diverse. Susan and her husband Mauricio together with their daughter have been living in St. Louis since 2008 which they now call home.
