Women’s Self-Defense Session
Did you know that 99% of assaults against women end up on the ground?
Were you aware that women are twice as likely as men to fall victim to sexual violence?
The good news is most women are not victims of violence and there are steps you can take to prevent an attack if faced with one.
Join the women of PWA on May 11, 2022, from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm as we learn some basic, yet important self-defense techniques that can help you remain on the safe side of violence.
In this class, you’ll learn:
- Tips and insights to help you be more aware of your surroundings, especially when you’re alone
- Physical defense techniques such as
- Standard chokeholds
- Front choke
- Ground fighting
All of the techniques learned come from the Jiu-Jitsu form of martial arts, which is commonly recognized as the most applicable martial art for self-defense.
The class will begin at 6:00 pm, but please arrive at 5:30 to ensure a prompt start time.
Be sure to wear comfortable clothing such as athletic shorts or pants, yoga pants, a t-shirt, and a sports bra. No socks allowed.
